When should I see a doctor because of the side effects I’m experiencing from Shingles?
Shingles cause a strong response in your immune system, so that it may produce short-term side effects. These side effects may be uncomfortable, but they are to be expected and usually go away on their own within two or three days. You may plump to take over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Call your healthcare provider if your indications do not improve or worsen.
In clinical trials, Shingles have not remained associated with severe adverse events. Serious side effects of vaccines are infrequent. For example, for every million vaccine doses, only one or two people may experience a severe allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction appear within minutes or hours after vaccination, including hives, facial and throat swelling, trouble breathing, fast heartbeat, dizziness, or weakness. See a doctor immediately if you experience these or any other life-threatening symptoms.
